Chemo #4 (R-CHOP): Oct.14th, 2020- Oct. 15th, 2020

Updated: Sep 25, 2022

4 down, 2 to go! More than halfway done! A day before I started this chemo , I underwent a CT Scan to track how I was progressing. My doctor was extremely pleased with the results. According to him, more than 2/3 of the tumor cells are gone, which was faster than he anticipated. This meant that I will continue with the remaining 3 cycles as planned. I will go through another scan after sixth round to confirm that I have a clear scan.

So my experience for this round was generally similar to the previous rounds. It took me a solid week to recover. The funny thing was, I was extremely hungry right after I was done with chemo. So I immediately went with my mum to a cafe and ate a huge bowl of pasta. But I was struggling with my apetite few days later. I felt a bit more nauseaous than usual on day 3 and it was extremely unpleasant to the point that I was sweating, feeling dizzy and about to pass out. That put me in a terrible mood for the rest of the day as I felt betrayed by my body. I thought that my body was finally getting the hang of everything. Luckily that was the worst part of this experience. Other than that, I had the usual side effects such as mouth sores, lack of apetite and slight nausea.

I would rate this overall round a 6/10.
